Red face Impressive Rolex immitations

http://www.goreplicas.com/

I had never been into fakes, but heard first hand that these things look / feel solid.. etc... not in the market for one, for about the price of one I think I would just buy a Tudor, but these things are claiming solid s/s, ETA, .... wonder if they use actual Rolex bezel, dials, etc...

Horology experts?

Their even faking 50 year old Omega models that are worth $800 and selling them for the same value and they are doing the same with Rolex, I've seen Known fake Rolex subs for the same value as a real one.

Some of the imitations of both make people wonder why they even bother, there are many more much higher end watches to imitate.

The good immitations are not quartz, they use ETA movements, so your freind's faky was a china town made not a swiss fake..lol

Did some reading on timezone, and yeah the top fakes are tough to tell apart unless u take apart the back (even need the Rolex tool).

Since the use ETA movements I'm sure they keep better time than a Rolex.

I get your point, it's amazing to me that
A. someone will pay $1000 for something thats FAKE.

B. That Rolex and Omega aren't more aggressive against fakes since they are the most copied.

C. That someone will go though so much trouble to make a couple hundred bucks.

I mean for $1K someone might as well just buy a Tudor.. .and if they want "rolex" just change the dial to a Rolex dial even, if they want to walk around thinking they have a rolex.

Or for a grand, just buy one of many excellent real watches, ie Omega, as I have......

But looking at it on the other side of the fence...... hmm...

People will pay $30k for a Kia that kind of looks like a Mercedes.
Watches are the same I guess, but I don't see the point in owning something that's not real.

A buddy of mine picked up a fake Rolex Submariner for me in Korea a few years back. He paid $40 for it. I didn't really wear it until this summer.

It was one of the best fakes I've ever seen. It had a sweeping second hand and the pendulum wind up in the back. I put it next to a real Rolex and it looked pretty darn good. The only give-away was that the band's finish wasn't nearly as nice and the bezel didn't look as polished.

It lasted two months before breaking! I took it to a watch repair shop and they told me the Chinese parts were impossible to get and that they'd charge $165 minumum just to open it up.

I'll wait 'till he returns to Korea or I can afford a real one of my own. I'd rather have the real thing.

Actually, if you check, you'll find . . . .

that Rolex does make a quartz movement version.

Here's a link: http://www.atlantictime.com/rolex-cellini-quartz-mid-size-watches.htm
