Let's try another tack, then. Whose ideas will still be considered worth knowing a thousand years from now?

By that time Einstein et al. will be considered a flat-earther...but the philospohers will age rather better, dontcha think?

No doubt in my mind "Dale Carnegie" his method has been working for centuries ,every con man ,politican, used car salesman, and hustler will still be using his methods when all the rest are as forgotten as the golden rule. He must have been camera shy as could find no graven image of him..........

Some people might say the Budweiser family.

Think of how many great ideas/concepts/theories were thought up with a little "lubrication" of the tongue/mind?

Every aspect of our culture is influenced such that there are few places on Earth that do not see mass-produced written language as a necessity. The same cannot (yet) be said for Internet. Will it reach parity in this century? Probably. This half-century? I think that's an open question.

Given about 550 years of head start there is a tiny bias built in, but ask just about any child from a middle income family weather they've been to the library or to a web site.........

Go foreword about 30 years and books will be collectors items, just like videos and CDs. it'll all be available from the web.....shown on PDAs

A friend of mine grew up with/under Jim Jones; strange indeed.

Plantman,

you mean that you are getting old enough to start acting like a teenager again, no?
