here a mini, there a mini, minis everywhere!

i was out running a buncha errands yesterday, and ...

it seemed i saw a mini every other mile!

i love these cars! and always have. as ive been around alot of SCCA and other vintage and historic racing, i had minis on the mind when most of the general public had never even seen or heard of them.

but the new ones are REALLY starting to grow on me. many of the colors are great, and possibility of having virtually a custom car with all the color/roof/stripes combos is also very appealing.

i like cars with character, and i could see myself driving one someday.

I test drove the cooper S. What a blast. It has major grin factor and lots of room. I'm 6'4" and had not problem fitting in it. I could see my self in it if my 16v died.

I purchased a new Cooper S and have enjoyed it quite a bit. I have made suspension and engine modifications and the car handles like nothing else I have owned. The 6 speed Getrag tranny and wire throttle in this car are such a pleasure. I must say BMW got this one right.........it's a BLAST to drive. I find myself using it soooooooooo much more than the SL!!

A turbodiesel mini would be nice. Surely there is such a car?

How safe would a Mini be in an accident? Do they have reinforced cages?

Thanks, Dale. I saw the "6 airbags" and "accident sensors" and some other things, but nothing about reinforcements.
