Sorry I cannot fathom paying 150K for a Ford, if I going to spend that much it will be a lambo or Ferrari, or AMG I loved my Ferrari's a ton, and have driven the NSX and happen to think that is very comfortable. The only problems that may arise is getting in and out all day might be taxing on my back. I can get a nice 91 NSX for less than 30K drive the living heck out of it while spending smittens on repairs and depreciation at the 30K price point is almost non existant. If I find a decent one I will buy it on the spot, the wife already gave me the green light. Which also happens to be fairly easy since she didn't know about the Ferrari until it came home with me. |

I've spent the last 35 years or so working Porsches & Ferraris with some odd Lamborginis & Mercedes thrown in for good measure. I still keep three hot rod Porsches in my stable but I most often drive my old 84 300D in perfect mechanical condition.
I got to drive Spearco's NSX at the SEMA show last year. It handled better than my Porsche race car. With 40 pounds of boost on alchohol it turned low eight second quarter mile runs. Eyeball flattening acceleration like the old 917 Porsches. The seats were nice but the ride ain't exactly like a Benz, eh? Here's the tip. Don't buy a Ferrari or a Lamborgini or any other car ending with an "i" if you expect ANY kind of reliability. |

Credit where credit is due. My remark about cars ending in an "i" was spoken without regard to the Infiniti. If our American cars were built with the engineering and quality standards of the Infiniti...... we would still be on top of the world car market. They pack a factory workshop manual with their cars too.

1. trying to sell me the myth that modern Ferraris are not reliable won't work. I've never had a single problem with a Ferrari. I can't say the same for MB.
2. I've had a 500SL been there done that, if I were a 60 year old female.....maybe. 3. The CLK 55 does get my attention and I'm pursuing it. 4. I'm not looking for status symbol car, even though employees' have to bow or kneel to see in the automoblile to speak with me or get their paychecks. It's just an added bonus. Beep beep thats all folks

I still think if you're gonna plunk down 30k that you should buy a P-car. 30k can get you a lot of Porsche. If looks is what you want, get an aspro Porsche and turn it into a turbo look and run a bank of webers on each side. Get two sets of BBS wheels so you can cut and weld them together and run 335's in the rear.
Sweet.

I'd get a very nice used 928 GT and a Murph928 supercharger kit for $30,000. You would have a car that not many could keep up with on the street or track. 600 hp for $30,000 can be a whole lot of fun! The 944 turbo can be made extremely fast too.
The NSX does have that WOW factor much like a Ferrari and it also has a low torque engine like many Ferrari's so it will feel like a Ferrari when you are having fun. The NSX's are very reliable and a great all around car. You won't win many speed races in the NSX but it would be a nice daily driver until you can get back in a Ferrari since that's what you really want. Just save up for your Ferrari unless you can turn the NSX for a profit after driving it for a while. I don't think you will ever be happy with anything less than a Ferrari. Don't settle for less because you will never be happy with something you consider second best. |

I've always loved those NSX's. Seems to me i've read where you can get them to 400hp easily by simply supercharging them. I'd think that i 400hp supercharged NSX would have a very hard time getting blown off the road by anything in it's price range(including supercharger). Can't always look at cars in their stock form, i like to look and see what the potential is.

A 400 hp supercharged NSX is not going to be able to keep up with many stock cars on the straights: Dodge Viper, Porsche 996/993 tt, Corvette ZO6, ETC. The lack of torque even in the forced air NSX's is still rather weak at best.
