Clogged injectors?

Might be time to get new nozzles? Just a guess.

Also of course check your filters. There's one in the tank (use blue enzyme stuff to rid it of any gunk), pre-filter, and main filter.

You could try fabric glue

If you can get in behind it as others were saying, it's possible you could use fabric glue. You'd put the glue on the new patch piece you would cut, let's say 1 inch bigger in each direction of the...

Where's the best place to get new or rebuilt fuel injectors for W124?

I doubt anyone has new ones anymore, I think rebuilt is the best I can hope for.

Where's the best place to get them? I think the average car parts place has Bosch injectors with nozzles made in...

Cutting and welding

My mechanic said if I weld it, it will melt the plastic end. What's your take on this?

How hard is it to change out fuel injectors on a W124?

Just the visuals, look to be to take off the fuel line and rubber fuel hoses, and then take the injectors out, put new ones in at the proper torque (how much is that, by the way?), and then hook the...

I don't know, but....

I'm assuming it'd be basically the same as on my 1991 W124 4 door coupe. Definitely drain it first. And use plastic to protect areas where you're pulling it up from because it will likely spill; at...

What about the fuel tank strainer?

It could be filled with gunk. You could hit it with Star-Tron. Blue stuff you dump in your tank that eats algae. You could also let the fuel run low and stick a snake cam in the tank to visually...

Does anyone have this part to sell?

This is a NLA part. The one shown here is similar, but too long by about 2 inches, and cutting it would ruin it. Welding it would probably ruin the end pieces; the heat would melt the plastic. Maybe...

Maybe try a snake cam

Let the fuel get real low. Get a snake cam that has a light on it. Stick it in if you don't mind getting diesel fuel on it and take a look at the tank strainer without having to take it out.

Could it be the flex disc cracking?

Could be the flex disc which holds the drive shaft in place. If it goes while you're driving, the entire car is toast.

Which Monark nozzles are the right ones for W124's?

I guess Monark is out of business now. Their nozzles are still out and about, I see them on ebay and a few other places. If I could find a set of them, which are the right ones for a 1991 300d?

Paul Roberts was right!!

I talked to my mechanic. He said these cars were made before windshield wiper had an anti-freezing agent in it. The antifreeze used to be used to warm the wiper fluid up. My mechanic did away with...

Why would you go 50k without a transmission fluid change???

The transmission is supposed to be serviced every 15k. Even if you let it go every 30k like I did, 30k is probably a prudent number for most transmissions. I think every 15k is an overkill.

That...

Could it be the flex disc?

Check the flex disc and of course tire balance. Could be a bent driveshaft if you hit anything, but the front and rear flex disc are mounted at both ends.

When do you need new nozzles and do they....

I guess the only way to tell if your injectors are popping at the right pressure is to do an injector test. If they're not popping at the right pressure, the injectors need to be rebuilt.

Or if...

What would cause an intermittent blower fan?

1991 300d, 260k

How can I adjust my sunroof to accommodate the new seal?

I put a new sunroof seal on my 1991 300d W124 now about 2 years ago. I got a MB genuine seal, but it's thicker than the old one since it's all nice and new rubber. The only problem is, the sunroof...

Try Power Steering Stop leak on the seal

Rather than replacing the seal, you could try to soak it in Power Steering Stop Leak. That stuff helps to rejuvenate rubber and puff it back up. You might still have to take the seal out to really...

Don't trust it if it "dries out"

Try to find out what's wrong with it while it's not working right. If it works after it dries out, then it's a ticking time bomb until it rains again. Not worth risking your life over. Find out the...
