190lE Gearbox

It's an easy swap. Disconnect the axles and driveshaft and unbolt the differential. Not sure if both year models are exact.

In my opinion it's one of the best engines...

In my opinion it's one of the best engines Mercedes Benz made. The only thing that I can think of that needs to be done is to replace the timing chain and guides at least every 100,000 miles.

I've ran across this problem several times. The best way I've found is to use a air hammer with a chisel and hit the round side of the plug. Be very careful to just hit the plug and not the oil pan.
