First of all - thanks for a really useful site. The shear number of postings being generated highlights the need that many MB owners have of solid technical advice on their cars that they may not be getting from their local dealers.

Would it be possible to categorise the postings in some way to allow searches on that data to be performed? Whether this can be done on a model/engine type, nature of problem (transmission/electrics/fuel system etc) or some other method I do not know but it would help to quickly bring up relevant data without having to trawl through the ever increasing numbers of postings.

Thanks again for a great site and keep up the good work.

Hi Mike-
Thank you very much for your feedback. Your idea is excellent and somewhat similar to suggestions some other members have had. Their idea was to create a database by model, year and chassis# whereby each member of the Shop Forum could enter data about their cars and access data for all cars. It would be sort of a member built and maintained database if you will of all maintenance history, problems, solutions, etc.

We have not ignored these suggestions and will direct our energy toward them at some point but, not today. Our #1 priority right now is getting our parts department set up so we can begin selling parts over this site. You will be able to buy anything from OEM original(with the MB star of it), OE quality (from MB suppliers), aftermarket, rebuilt or used...AND you will get the support from experts like Benzmac that all members have enjoyed since we started. Needless to say, that little project is taking all of our time.

In the meantime, the Shop Forum does have an excellent search engine. If you click on "search" in the upper right hand corner of the Shop Forum you can put in any word or combination of words and do a search. Give it a try.

Thanks again for your input...we would like to get more. One of the reasons we are going to offer parts is because members are constantly asking for them. From the beginning this site has been steered by listening to the input of our members. We consider every suggestion we hear but, unfortunately, can only act on a few at a time.

Regards,
