Bill,
Great topic,

I was wondering if MBShop could (put up) get from Tire Rack, or from reader input, a wheel fitment type chart of diameters, widths, and offsets clearances for wheels/tires and possibly brake setups for popular MB chassis.

Mike Mullins

Also, I have the "Used Car Checklist" I discussed earlier done, if it is of any interest to add to site.

Mike-
I'll discuss the tire/wheel fitment idea with Tirerack but, I expect they will say to come to their site for that info. We're hoping to get representatives from Tirerack participating in the Wheel & Tire section of the Shop Forum. Then you will be able to ask them questions like this directly.

I haven't forgotten about the "Used Car Checklist" its just that it hasn't worked its way up to the top of the pile, yet. I did, however, get some database software that looks like it will work to power this application. Right now, the PartsShop is taking all of our time but, once we have it running smoothly we can shift our focus elsewhere.

Thanks Bill,

One reason I would like it, is I see wheels for sale all the time everywhere, that I would like to buy for my 124- i.e 16x8 8-holes, etc. Not knowing the offset and such makes it scary at best.

As far as the Parts business, what can we order from you guys? Everything a dealer has, aftermarket, etc.

Thought about making any specials, like a 30 or 15K maintenance pack (filters, plugs, parts, and etc. for a given popular model, a hose replacement package, etc.).

We have all of the standard maintenance items for just about any Mercedes made in the last 25 years or so. Overall, we have about 10,000 line items. Our everyday prices are lower than the dealership but, we have the same quality parts.

Fill out the parts inquiry form and we'll give you the correct part numbers for your car so you can see the price in our shopping cart. Filters, Brake pads and discs, wiper inserts, etc are all there. We also have electrical and mechanical components.
