ML stall
1999 ML 430 been running flawlessly for 5 years. 62K on the clock. Today, with A/C on, coming to stop, the engine sputtered and stalled. Restarted after a few minutes wait. Running fine..... can't repeat the stall. Any suggestions what to look for, like some idle control about to go, or just forget it if running fine.
Thank you, RSL

The crankshaft (flywheel) position sensor failure is very HIGH on the M112/M113 engines, & won't leave a code. We replace 3-4 a day for that exact problem!
List is $100. & takes less than 45 minutes to install.

Thank you for your quick reply. Had my dealer run a computer check on the ML this morning. No faults seen, but the mechanic said it probably was the crankshaft sensor, like you said, and if it happens again, just to replace it.
Thank you, RSL
