Exclamation Need help!!!!!

Im installing my axleshafts and for the life of me i cant get the c-clip back on the spline on the end of the axle!! I need to get this done ASAP. I beg of anyone who has replaced their axleshafts, please respond with tips on getting the c-clip back on. When using needle nose pliers, the large ring gear is in the way, not allowing for a straight fit into the grooves. Im a strong guy, so its not a matter of more muscle-power. I really need your help here Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I have never replaced my half-shafts, but there is a tool out there you can buy. It is very difficult with needle nose pliers to get it in there. Go to the parts store and ask them for a tool to help you out. I did replace my rear bearings in the 140, but I don't remember there being c-clamps, but those might be specific to your car, or near the differential? Good luck!
Happy Benzing,
Brian

I see that you have read this...

after reading this it brought me to my own bit of pain...

i see that you have already read it...but it sounds a lot like my story...i too could not get the circi clip on one side, the other poped right on....after much measure/observation/debate...i had to surface grind the shim washer to get the circi clip to fit...

See this thread, http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?threadid=100269 I just got back from the dealer and found out that they do offer different thickness shims. I ordered two and they should be here friday. Hopefully the install can proceed then!
