Today, I changed the two fuel filters on my wifes 85 300D for the first time. I filled the big filter with Red Line and bled the system. It fired right up,and after the temp came up I ran it pretty hard for ten minutes or so. Alot of black blew out the exhaust and it really runs better.
However, I still have two small bubbles visable in the primary filter. One at each end. I tried to pump them out,but to no avail. I had fuel coming out of the pump but no air out of the bleed nut,so,I buttoned it up and she runs fine. Am I O.K.? Mr. BILL 90 300SE 85 300D 84 300SD (sold) |

Actually I continue to see the bubble for awhile. It's kind of handy, I can glance at the filter and see if there is fuel arriving from the tank.
