S500/W140 Trunk Vacuum Assist Not Pulling Trunk Flat

I just noticed after this past winter that the trunk on my 94 s500 is no longer totally flush with the rest of the bodu. I shut the trunk but it doesn't "suck" it in anymore, or as much as it should. I tried to look around to look for the vacuum vent hoping that some leaves were blocking it. But to my dismay, not being able to locate the vent, and reading other's having problems with the vacuum assist, I feel the problem is bigger. Does anyone have any advice as to how I can get my trunk to close flat with the rest of the body. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
