I am getting ready to begin reassembly of my '72 250C project car. I have now learned that it last ran in 1988.

Concerns:

The flywheel, flex plate, and torque converter are a mass of rust. I believe that the flywheel and flex plate can be cleaned up, but I am concerned about the torque converter. Should I replace it, or is there a way to tell if it is OK?

Any thoughts on what I should do to the transmission before operation? I was thinking a drain, filter change and refill.

Thanks.

Chuck
