Question Is it possible to swap the front driver's and passenger seats?

On my '92 400E there is such a huge amount of comfort difference between the front driver and passenger seats. Since the passenger seat is used at least a quarter of time the driver's seat is used it feels like new. It has way more support and the leather is in better condition. Because my drivers seat is now starting to hurt my back due lack of support I'm thinking of a swap.

What I'm wondering in how difficult it is. So far this is what I think it would take: Removing both seats from the car, switching the frame rails, so that the seat belts are on the correct sides, removing those soft pieces between the center console and seat, and removing the armrest.

What worries me are switching the frame rails, if they can be taken off with bolts and moved it will work, and that's what I'm hoping for.

Does anyone know if it will work, or if special mods are required?
