hydrolic fluid

1991 560 sel - has a Hydrolic fluid container directly in front of the anti-lock breaking mechanism. What is this for and how much/type of fluid should it contain?

The bottle is for the self level suspension. It should be fill to about the upper rib of the bottle. The center of the resevoir cap has a plastic dipstick for checking the level. Be sure to use only the Mercedes hydraulic fluid to keep topped off, or for flushing the system.
