stripped allen 3mm bolt
Dear all
Today I wanted to replace some worn parts like distributor, rotor, valve cover gasket, radial seal etc on my 1992 300TE. However one of the three 3mm allen srew that helds the rotor was so tight that it got stripped. Doing a search on this forum I learned that there is a bolt remover set from Sears that might help in these cases. Does anyone have any other suggestion to remove it? And where do you buy new srews for your car? Yours sensible comments are more than welcome, Bruno |

Bruno, you might try an easy-out or small visegrip pliers to remove the stripped 3mm allen screw. First, I'd spray a little WD40 under the allen head and lightly tap the center of the screw with a center punch in an attempt to free up the screw.
The local MB dealer should have a replacement allen screw for a reasonable price ... not worth searching elsewhere for a simple item like that.
