I had the timing chain replaced on my 81 300D(180k)but not the tensioner. Thinking of replacing tensioner now too. Is that a tough job for amateur mech?

I have not had to replace many of the tensioners on the older D's. They were the ratcheting type and never returned, so the moved very little..
I hope the tech took it out and reset it and allowed it to retension. IF not, you will have SERIOUS problems soon. ------------------ Benzmac: Donnie Drummonds 300E ASE CERTIFIED MASTER AUTO TECHNICIAN MERCEDES SPECIALIST 8 YRS PARTNER IN MERCEDESSHOP.COM OWNER OF MB AUTOWERKS .COM |
