AB 2683 goes to Gov. Schwarzenegger
If you are a California vintage car owner or enthusiast or want to support your friends, please go to the following page to see what you can do. Then take a few minutes to write an e-note urging the Governor to veto AB 2683 and distribute this link as widely as possible.

See the full text of the bill here:
http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/pub/bill/asm/ab_2651-2700/ab_2683_bill_20040826_amended_sen.html Not sure what to think on this one. I'm no fan of CA's often heavy-handed and overly politically-correct bureaucracy, but we all gotta breathe. Are "collector cars" causing a smog problem? No. But just today I was sitting at a stoplight behind a rusty POS mid '70's Ford that was running so rich it literally made my eyes water. Should that be exempt from smog testing?

Chances are that car won't be on the road much longer. Once a "beater" has a major problem they are not economical to repair.

CA emission test question
I have a 1973 Mercedes 450 SL that I may be registering in California. Does the new emission test law now require that the car be tested. It was exempt under the "30 year" rule.
