Post fan motor blows

Just moved from a volvo to a benz and am wondering how to fix the following trouble:
the fan motor on my '84 190d blows its fuse when run on "4". Something obvious?

Drawing too much current, either the motor windings are shorted or there is a short in the resistor grid, assuming you have one on the manual AC/heater. Automatic is, I believe, solids state switching system rather than resistors.

fan fixed

I went back to look at things and turns out although the fuse was of the proper amperage, it was not a ceramic one. Changed it with extras from my 1988 volvo 240 wagon (275k) and now everything is cool- or warm rather. Thanks for the comments, wise-ass and other!
