intermittant electric motor noise
I am new here...excellent info!
When my key is engaged and ignition is on, but engine not started, I hear a motor running every five seconds coming from the right side of the inside of the trunk. It stops when the engine is started. Any ideas? This is a 1994 SL600 Renntech (SL70) Thanks, Fendiman |

You may be hearing the fuel pump. On the older 126 gas cars, it's located inside of the passenger side rear wheel.

The motor you hear is probably the vacuum pump for the climate control and central locking system.
