ML Stall

99 430 ML has stalled several times while driving.... engine cuts out, and within 2-3 sec , comes back on. also has stalled several times when coming to complete stop. Starts up again after a minute of rest. There are 66K miles on it....service up to date.....no warning lights come on the dash. Any thoughts would be welcome before I bring it to my dealer. Thank you.

Same with Ml 320

Had the same problem with my Ml 320 about a year ago, changed the o2 sensors as well as masss airflow sensor and not doing it anymore. must admit the car still isnt perfect though does still hesitate to much on acceleration but at least not like it used to.

engine used to die and then come back after minutes rest. sometimes two three times in a row, sometimes not for a month or two.

good luck

You may want to start by replacing the crankshaft position sensor, common problem for this complaint.
