Still having cold engine stalling. Help!!

'98 ML320, 76K miles:
When it sits over night it starts/runs fine until it's put in gear, then it dies. It has to be warmed up 'till it reads 80 on the temp gauge before it can be driven. Trying to throttle it to keep it alive is useless, so is revving it before putting in gear. After the temp reaches 80 it's fine the rest of the day, even if engine cools for 10+ hours.
This problem started when the car was relocated from 1000' altitude and ~50F AM temp, to 7000', ~40F AM temp.
No OBDII error codes.
I changed the MAF last week and it made no difference.
Thanks....

Does this beastie have a coolant temperature sensor? That's what really fixed my cold running problems in my '87.
