Repairing MBTex

There are some small holes on the passenger side of the center console where the previous owner had a cellular phone installed. Is there any product that can fill the holes in the MBTex, and how can I match the color?

Do I need to go to an upholstery shop?

Thanks,

Charles

Upholstery

For anything for your car in general, as users of this site we should first check FastLane (see the link above) out of respect for the wonderful hosting of this site. If they don't have it then....

I think it's OK to share a link for a site that specializes in this kind of thing (I'm not sure if it's against the site rules to provide such a link, if so feel free to delete my post).

But the following folks are the king of Mercedes upholstory. They have everything from replacement center consoles to extra MB-Tex (though I don't know what your console looks like and if you can graft it onto there, ask them, I've used it elsewhere in the car), to things for the roof (seals, etc)-- you name it. You can also call them on the phone and they will try to help if the website doesn't have the info. They also sell spray paint the color of your interior. Here is the link:

If you're talking small screw holes you can fill them with Leather Weld from Tandy leather. Roll the last coat with a piece of leather for texture. Then finish with SEM Color Coat, which comes in spray cans in about 40 colors. For such a small area I would paint with an artists brush or Q-tip rather than to try to spray, but you can do it either way. If you don't find a great color match you buy two cans, surrounding the color, and then mix to match. They're a little pricey at about $8.00 a can but for about $20 you get a decent looking repair - something that at least doesn't jump out at you.

Thanks for the Help

The Tandy repair sounds dandy. I'll also try to find the right color. My interior is a light shade of gray with some blue tints.
