				Hard start issue resolved!!!!

Car: 1991 560 SEL 104200 miles Problem: Take minimium of twice or up to 5 times cranking to start. Worst at 30 minutes after a long trip. Action: replaced the fuel filter and both fuel pump check valves. Condition improved but not cigar. Today, I replaced the fuel accumulator and it is like I am getting a new car!!! Since I dump out all gas before replacing the accumulator, I was expecting a long cranking because all the air in line. It started up on the very first turn. The car runs great now and the accelaration is so responsive and fast. I guess the old accumulator was so busted that it leaked fuel from pump right back. If you got a screw driver and some wrenches, you can do this job. The whole thing took me about 45 minutes. I got an off brand accumulator from Ebay for $63 delivered. |

Low pressure will do that. Thanks for the update. I think I'm going to overhaul the fuel system in my 300SE.
