Need guidance to verify ADS damper valves functioning properly
Is there a procedure to verify that the ADS damper valves in my 95 S600 are functioning properly? I do not have any caution indicator lights on, and there are no codes in the system. I changed the pressure spheres (accumulators) this summer, and flushed the system thoroughly. The spheres were indeed ruptured. I had expected the ride to be a lot softer after the repair. It is much better, but it feels like the ride seems harder some days, and softer on other days. The ride seems stiffer when it's cold out. I'm wondering if the internal components could be sticking. I recall reading that the valves default to the stiffest setting if there is a problem in the control system, but again, I have no caution lights or codes. Does anybody have any ideas on this?
