Hi i want to install a keyless entry system with remote start on my

95 E300D

and 92 E190 2.3

Any ideas on good companies that work well with mercedes?

Where do you live? Im installing the same on my 1990 300E. The Viper is supposed to be the best system. I was quoted 175$ for keyless entry, remote trunk release, and a generic alarm. Mine already has an alarm though.

Even though I owned a W210 diesel, I am not sue about the key systems on the newer diesels. A diesel is a tougher remote start install becase it has no ignition system. It's not that tough to get it going, but turning a diesel engine off is not as simple as a gasoline engine. MB "ignition" switches have a vacuum system that kills the engine. We had to rig up a vacuum switch with the remote start system. I understand that that there are more diesel specific systems available now (there used to be, but not in the brands I liked) and you should be able to find one, but if not, make sure your shop knows how to install in an MB diesel.

BTW, I understand that modules have made many insalls easier, so the pricing for a top notch install should have come down, but do not go for the best priced place. Pay for a quality install.

Unfortunately I dont have too much info on remote start. I just noticed a remote starter " for diesel use" in a local future shop.

BTW: Any more info/pics of the 95 E300D?
