Need Some Speedo Help.

MY SPEEDO ON THE 1983 MB SL 280 (euro-grey market model) seems to
work only when it wants to. This is not acceptable. It needs to work
all the time. Aside from the $130/hour at the dealer, any cheaper advice
from ya'll ?
