Climate control issue~ Please help

Hi All-

I have a 1992 500Sl that is fogging up on the interior. I have checked for moisture on the carpets (heater core) and there is none. This morning I tried pushing the recirculation button on the climate control and it would not light. It seems like the fogging would be the same as when the air is recirculating on the interior.

Any thoughts on my problem or suggestions on repairing the non functioning climate control unit?

Thanks in advance!

Scott

Smalk,

I'm not familiar with the climate control unit on the sl, but if it really is kaput (is this a local term?), Programa was a great help when my unit went bad. They offer bench testing, a return on your core and cheap refurb'd units. Two year warentee.

You may want to further troubleshoot the unit you have-there was a fuse in my unit, one in the fuse box along with other possible solutions that had to be eliminated before I sent my unit out. On mine, the lights on the unit were dead, the buttons didn't move the vaccum-flaps in the dash and the heating system was in "fixed operation mode." This means that the car had "realized" that something was wrong with the unit, and turned all the heat/defrost to high to make sure the owner wouldn't have fogged windshields.

merry christmas,

The A/C compressor must run to remove fog from the windshield, does it run?

ALSO if the de-frost button is pressed the recric button won't work!
