Transmission leaks

Car is a 92 400E with 722.354 transmission with two leaks on the passenger side of the transmission - the B1 piston cover and the B2 piston cover. Is this as simple as taking these covers off and replacing a seal? I know they're tough to get at but according to lino's recent B2 piston thread the B2 piston is accessible by pushing the transmission over a little. The B1 seems to be as accessible as the B2. The seals are about 4 bucks each. I might give this a try if it's just a matter of taking the covers off and putting in new seals. Anybody ever tried this?
