Correction - www.928intl.com is the corect site for all things Porsche 928 - the 1983-87 flywheel lock tool is $59 and it works on the v8 Benz too! I would also absolutely not use air tools on the crank bolt. Just use a black pipe extention about 36 inches long from Home Depot or the hardware store on your 3/4 ratchet handle. Works great. Its called 'leverage'.

There is also the 'rope trick'. A small rope is fed into the spark plug hole and the crank rotated towards TDC. Of course, you have to make sure both valves are closed. The rope provides a stop for the piston and the crank bolt can be loosened.
Just my $2.00. (Inflation)
