Need a PPI in Ft Lauderdale
It looks as though I may be the proud new owner of a 1997 E320. That is of course if it passes Inspection. I am having a hard time finding someone in Ft Lauderdale to do it. Pampano Mercedes is Booked until next wendsday and and Ft. Lauderdale MB doesn't do pre-sale inspections oddly enough. Any ideas where to go?
BTW. The car has 140,000 one owner pampered miles. It has all books and records with all service preformed at Ft. Lauderdale MBZ. PPI should not be performed typically by servicing dealer
The servicing dealer is most likely trying not to risk making the present owner (their customer) angry. Ask another MB dealer (or Mercedes independent shop)who does not know the owner; you are likely to get a more accurate assesment.
Good luck on finding a shop. ?Do you know the owner? Would he allow you to drive car back to your home area where you could have everything checked there by someone you trust. Rent the car a week ? PS. What is wrong with the center console door, ? It doesn't appear to fit the console. Or is that just the way the picts. look?

Unfortunately I don't know the owner.... The console door is not shut.. I think the cup holder may be in the way.

there used to be an indy off of state route 7 in plantation. did me a very thorough inspection 4 years ago. my files are in my warehouse.
if you can't find the garage, let me know and i shall go dig out the info. but i bet you can find that garage if you live in that area. specializes in imports. has four bays. just west of 7. good luck and happy new year.

Thanks for the reply. I posted this in open discussion as well and got a shop name. I'll let you know if that one doesn't work. I live in NC so I am not too familiar with south florida...been there only a few times.

I live just north of there and was planning on travelling to Lauderdale tommorrow. While I am not a MB mechanic I do own three MB's and do %90 of the work they require myself. I am a mechanic for a top yacht builder as my day job. PM me with details and I may be able to look at it, take digital pics and give you a unbaised report of the vehicles condition. PM me ASAP to get this in motion.
