94 E420 Door Lock Failure

New Year's Greetings to All:
My driver's door lock has failed. In less than 7 days the lock has gone from normal operation to complete failure. I can not insert the key into the lock as it no longer accepts it. I am at a loss as to how to repair the failure. Any suggestions from the group are much appreciated.
Happy 2005!

You're probably going to need a new lock - but have you tried lubricating it?

Don't know where you're located, or what the weather is, but any chance it's frozen up (e.g., after going through a car wash in below-freezing weather)?
