1995 E320 Purchase Advice
Hi All,
I ran car fax, and it shows it was lease car, then sold in auction, which make me nervous. Any advice about the car, especially with 4 owners. Here is the link for car fax: http://www.carfax.com/cfm/FSBO.cfm?report=CFX000007993346 The car has 90K miles, seller is asking $9000 OBO. Thanks in advance for your help Sam

Price seems a bit high, but if the car is REALLY nice it may be worth it. Carfax seems OK, but you still need to have a pro look it over. by the way, I love my 95 TE.

Price does seem a little high, didn't the mid 90's E have the head gasket and wireing harness problems?
Just for reference their is a perfect 1995 E420 listed for $14,700 at a MB dealer in my area, 57k original miles. So $9k would be only a little high if it was perfect. $8k would probably be a fair price, but get is as cheap as possible. Drive a hard bargin and maybe get it in the mid to high $7k range?

I am going to check with the seller regarding the Engine wire harness. I know they cost $600-$900 installed. He bought it as Pre-Certified ?

My car was purchsed as a Certified Starmark car from a Mercedes dealer, and they didn't replace the wiring harness because it hadn't acted up yet.
It did fail, after the warranty had expired, and the selling dealer replaced it as a "goodwill" warranty.
