Buy a block heater at a discount?

I ordered a block heater when I mistakenly thought the one already on my M-Benz 1983 300SD Turbo-diesel didn't work. The trouble is the catalog I ordered from doesn't take any returns of any kind and I paid $50 plus shipping for it. It is new and untouched in its packaging. Anyone interested in buying it for $40? With shipping I won't be recouping much for my mistake but I also don't see the point of storing a brand new part for an occassion that may never arrive? I guess that leads to a question, should I keep it handy after all because one never knows how much life is left in the block heater on my 22 year old car? Thanks in advance for your offers, advice or sympathy for the dummy! - (P.S. I talked with Phil who is with the parts dept. of this site and he said it's OK to make this post where I may sell a part.)
