Instrument Panel Removed

Hey Guys,

I am sending my speedometer out for repair. It will be out of the car shortly.

Can I drive the car without the instrument cluster without damaging anything until I get the repaired unit back?

(I realize I will have no feedback without missing gauges, but it is a short drive to/from work, tank is full, oil pressure reliable, and H2O temp runs steady 90 dgrees. My thinking is that I could manage this way for a week, but if damage likely, will not do.)

Also, battery currently diconnected.

Which car????? If it is the W123 300D then no. Your oil pressure guage is a liquid line to the guage and oil will spray all over you.

Intrument Panel removed

Turns out you can drive w/no problem provided you seal off the vacuum gauge hose (the one to your economy gauge).
