. . Beckmann was able to re-furbish it. So if you would, how much did it * roughly* cost?

moruzzi 02-04-2005 09:17 AM

Price was $780, local dealer was around 1250 and caliber motors was about 1000. I was disapointed given the person I talked to originally quoted $511 and I had given him the specific part number. On another thread it seems that they have a lower price for shops which is why I believe they quoted the shop price. As I said if I need something from them in the future I'll go to a local shop I know and have them order it for me for a slight fee.

was this YOUR old ETA that was rebuilt or was this a core unit that was rebuilt by Beckmann. If so, did they require your old 'core' as exchange?

moruzzi 02-04-2005 12:21 PM

They sent me one that they had already refurbed. I sent mine in to them (I believe it is a requirement) and someone else will wind up with that one. The person who does the rebuilds said sometimes they cant rebuild them.

I believe they will also buy cores you may have.

So I dont still have the old one. If I did I would take it appart to see if I could figure out what failed and if I could figure out how to fix it - Or involve one of my EE friends (my background is ME).

BTW Jim thanks for the warning on the spring. Thats why I was ready with a loop of string to keep it in its place. Tied it off with minimal tension to keep its hidden end attached. Worked like a charm.

a good experience with them, I will update my page re details. Based the pics from Justin, it appears that the 'wires' are the biggest problem.

Yes, that little (expletive) spring is a real pain. Should have done the string-thing myself.
