How to replace door lock knob on '86 300E?
Thanks to the help of forum contributors, I've been able to replace all but one dog chewed items on the interior of my car. The one remaining part is the passenger side door lock knob. The tip of the knob is chewed up and looks bad. You can still grap the stalk enough to lock or unlock the door, but I'd like to replace knob so it looks nicer.
It appears that replacement knobs are available for a very modest price... about $6. What is required to replace the knob? Do I have to remove the inner door panel? How is the knob attached to the lock mechanism?
Any tips / pointers on how to accomplish this task would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Mika
