91 300E ~Air hose and vacuum line replacements
I am in the process of replacing the hoses under the air cleaner since they are old and brittle. I wanted to make sure my list is complete:
Air Hoses: -From air duct to idle speed actuator -From valve cover to air filter housing -From valve cover to intake manifold -From idle speed actuator to intake manifold Vacuum Lines/connectors: Q: Which ones are recommended? Thanks Haasman

Hey,
I am about to replace all the hoses on my 89 300E too... So far, I think you have got all the hoses identified..... I would personally recommend replacing all of them, 13 years of engine heat will really hinder the hose's ability to completely seal in the air around all the joints and stuff.... Quick question... Have you replaced your passenger side motor mount? I am thinking about doing this, but I don't have the tools to do it. (Or the guts! ) How much do you think it would cost in labor only, at an independent shop? |

Replace them all. I have on my 190E and it actually made the idle better and performance a little better. Mine were all hard and starting to crack. New ones are nice and soft and flexible again! Keeps those babies sealed better and does not let in outside air like the old.

I recently replaced the motor mounts on the 190e and the right side wasn't too bad, I believe there is about the same accessibility with the 300e (on the right side). The left side takes a lot more time and sometimes multiple universal joints! I read somewhere on this forum that actually only doing the right side may be a good cost-effective short-term fix. One mount is listed on this site and the labor for only the right-side should be less than 1 hour. mctwin2kman That's what I'm thinking. I just want to make sure I've got them all before starting the project. Do you have all the part numbers? Haasman

No I got mine all from ***********************! Except I never could find the one that is under the IACV and connects to the bottom of the AFM unit. SO I went to the Stealer for that one. From Euro they are like $3-6 a piece depending on the piece. The one I got from the Stealer was like $10!
