p/s kaput in 240D @ 315k miles
Well at 315k miles I suppose she does not owe me anything. Just up and died instantly in the parking lot at work. When I bought the car a few months ago the fluid was really dark and the filter had not been changed in years. I replaced fluid (turkey baster) and put in a new filter. It died 2 months later. Connection???
How do you diagnose a bad pump vs. a stuck valve or something else in the steering box? Is there any way to see that the pump is generating pressure without making a ungodly mess in the garage? I'll junkyard a pump, but if I could troubleshoot first it would be nice! Cheers fellow oel motor drivers. Zaffo ![]() |
