Do the new S-Class cars have Dual Pane Glass?

Do the new S-Class cars have Dual Pane Glass like the 140 series do?

I read somewhere that the dual pane glass was discontinued to lower vehicle weight.

My understanding is that the w140 is the ONLY (production) car ever to have double paned glass.

Nope, I don't believe the new S class does.

I wouldn't buy the current generation S class.

It's proportions were so small that Mercedes had to go back to the old W140 chassis on which to base the current Maybach.

My buddy who works at one of the local MB dealers tells me that the next generation S class will be much bigger than the current one. It seems MB might have learned their lesson.

double glass

I'am sure the double glass was discontinued in 2000 with the body change-over.Ron

No the W220's do not have double glass. The W220 isn't much smaller then the W140. I rather park a W220 in a tight spot, their a little more user freindly around town.
