I couldn't find the relay because it was gone. The PO has thrown me a number of curveballs in the way of removed components, never fixing anything that was broken, etc.
I did find a 6-pin plug behind the dash on the firewall, just above the steering column. Right next to it is the 8-pin plug that ties into the transmission.
The connector on the '76 relay (parts car) is larger than the 82's 6-pin. Therefore, I could not use the existing plug. I did, though, remove the plug and map the wires (using the CD's wiring diagram) directly onto the appropriate pin on the '76 relay. The relay acted up for a few minutes until the cobwebs were brushed off. Then it worked perfectly, including parking the wipers after I shut off the switch.
I will use cable ties to secure the relay since I cannot plug it into the mounting bracket. The alternative would be to buy the '82 relay and plug it right in, but I think I'll try this out for a while.
