The screws all drop out on mine. The first time I had to remove the glove box, I really had to give it a really good yank. It was tight.

The filter under the dash is not the dust (pollen) filter. It is the charcoal filter. The dust filter(s) - there are two - ARE behind the glove box. Look carefully and you will see to white plastic locks to access the filters.

Hi Vince
I can not see any white plastic locks !!! The are only metalclips and screws. To dismount this i think I most dismount the hole dasj. I buy one filter and it fits perfekt under dasj with the passenger left leg. |

Hi Sound. Thank you for drawing. But I cant see any opening in the area the drawings indicat. Can you see where the opening are in the pictures? The upper lid are quit big, securit with clips an crews and can not be open without disassemble the car. I have change the Charcoat Filter.
No problem |
WOW! Your car evidently has no dust filters. If that is a picture of the area behind the glovebox (unless you have a right hand drive car??) then I don't see the small door to access the dust filters, should be right there very plainly.

Gilly, you have hit it on the head, but the weird part is that I can't find where M-B offered the W210 without the dust filter/charcoal filter anywhere in the world. I learn something every day.

Maybe if it isn't automatic climate control? Can we see a picture of the climate controller panel?

Hi Gilly and vince.
The pictures are of the area behind the glovebox. And I have a lefthand drive car. Like the american cars. I get one fillter from my part dealer, and it fit perfektly under the dasjboard. Leftside /passenger leg. Here are a picture of the A/C panel Regards Arvid W 210 1999 E 240 W 107 1971 350 SL and more old cars on my homepage http://www.chevroletnorge.com |
dust filter
Isn't the dust/pollen filter accessed from under the dash in the passenger footwell? Like on a W202? Even if there is no Auto Cliamte Control it should still have the dust filter. Unless there are some variations. Oz delivered W210's all have dust filters.
|
Wow. The info I have states that all W210s were delivered with Automatic Climate Control, but Arvid's car obviously has the "manual" system. It looks to me like the dust filter has been installed in the position where the charcoal filter is on the cars with ACC. Maybe the filter for Arvid's car is a combination dust/charcoal filter like the one available for the W202.
|
Here's my guess:
The system appears essentially the same as a W202. As far as I know, the 202 just has a dust filter, not a combination filter. I may be wrong, I am trying to think of what the 202 dust filter looks like exactly, it may have some charcoal content, which would make it a combination filter. But at any rate it seems obvious that it doesn't have the seperate charcoal system because it doesn't have the seperate dust filters behind the glovebox. It also doesn't seem to have a switch to activate the charcoal system. It looks alot like a system some W202's have in the US, and also like the R170 system. Gilly |
