89 300SE Bilstien shocks with no dust boot??

My new Bilstiens shocks for the W126 have no dust boot...... is this normal??
The KYB's in there now do.
Are these the wrong shocks, or is the boot a seperate item???

No boots are ok. I usually pull them off if they have 'em.

If I want them before I install the new blisteins how can I get some to fit.
Will universal boots from a local speed shop fit?

Boots are separate - should be able to get them from the same place you got the shocks.

The only boots I've seen sold seperate were in off-road shops and are designed to fit cheap generic shocks like Rancho.

Can you use the old KYB boot? I just tossed out some shiny new Bilstein boots too.

The KYB boots are rusted very badly. Too bad you just ousted the bilstien ones.
Anyone else have a set?

Chevota,
Having lived in San Diego for a few years, the issue with no dust boots in cali is really a non- issue..... you are correct.
But, in the northeast, the boot keeps the snow and frozen sludge off the shock piston. Especially if I am planning on leaving the car outside when it gets completed. Having 4 cars and space for 2 indoors leaves me to become anal with sealing everything up best as possible.

Ok, I see your point. I've never seen a bilstein shaft rust like a regular shock so I think they may be stainless??
So where did you get them? All the ones I've bought that were for a specific car had a boot. The universal shocks I've bought do not. Maybe the seller or Bilstein can make it right?

I ordered them through adsitco.com for $48 each.
It was a good deal...... well before the boots. Yes I will have to call them, they just arrived tonight.

If you tell me the diameter of your shaft, body, and minimum length you need, I'll keep an eye out.
That sounded kinda gay didn't it...
