Electrical nightmare
I have just aquired an 86 300E and it's the first MB that i've owned and it has some electrical gremlins. I was wondering if anybody has had any of the same problems and what cure was found for them. My electric seats don't work, radio don't work, interior lights don't work, tach is inop, and the blower motor doesn't blow. Oh and it is cold blooded like none other. I would appreciate any insite on any of these items, Thanks.

The good news is that with so many things failing, it actually could be easier to find. Start by checking fuses. If they are all good, then start probing around in the fuse box to see which circuits do not have voltage.
The cold nature, might be related to a power loss because the KE is actually an electrified mechanical injection system. It can actually run without the electrical part hooked up. Good luck, |

Agreed, so many things at once sounds like blown or dirty fuses. The cold start issue is *likely* a blown fuse in the OVP relay (behind the plastic cover behind the battery) or the relay itself. No juice to the cold start valve if it's blown. |

It might be worth it to change all (every one of them) fuses with new ones to see if it makes a difference.

I did find the fuse blown in the top of the relay, now she starts good in the morning. I don't have a manual for my 86 300E yet, and was wondering if anybody knew if it has a relay block and where it would be. I have checked all the fuses and both sides of the holders with my DVOM, everything has power where it should be.
