Mercedes Insignia Replacement

All
I had the insignia/emblem on my mercedes removed by unknown persons on Saturday. How can I replace it. Is this an expensive part to replace? I have a 1997 C230 mercedes. I believe someone must have just pulled it off or.... oh well. Any help is appreciated. I just need to know where to get this part and how to put it on the car

After you get the new star, make sure to connect 10,000 volt electrodes to the back of it (just wire a direct connection to the car's coil packs) so as to prevent theft. If your talking about the star on the hood, use a whetstone to sharpen the edges until razor sharp. Polish it too, so its tempting. (Just kidding) Good luck, I know how it is, someone stole the chrome door handle strips off mine at a mall.

In the mid to late 70's theft of the hood ornaments was all the rage. We lost about 4 of them off our '74 240D. I remember one time the thief got his just punishment though as the star actually broke at the stem while he was trying to steal it so he only got the top part, the bottom part stayed on the car and because of the sharp area left at the break he must have gotten quite a gash on his hand as there was blood all over the hood and parking lot around the car! It was worth the $20 or so to replace the part to think about that thief's suffering!

I lost one in my 72 280se back in 1989... it was at a mall..and I was ticked...same thing... they broke it.... couldn't get it..

I think it cost me 55 dollars for the new part back then.... you know it's so much cheaper to fix a benz now.... parts are cheaper... the knowledge on the board is tremendous...
