1987 190E stalling out

My 1987 Mercedes 190E, 2.3 ltr, made several indications of misfire over a period of several days. Acting much like it was electrical in nature that option has been pretty well eliminated. It will stall out only when driven to a normal operating temperature. Starts right up the first couple of times but gets progressively worse and will not start until a long delay. Only by pressing the accelerator very softly can it be coaxed to run long enough to move at all. help. alan
