engine surging at idle, poor gas milage?

engine surging at idle, poor gas milage?

Two weeks ago I noticed that my gas milage went down 40% and the engine started surging at idle about every 3 or 4 seconds. This happened right after I changed the fuel pump and o2 sensor. Anyone have any thoughts on what the problem could be???
