Hopefully it's just the blower motor fuse...but where is it?

I am getting no air flow from my climate control system in the '94 E320 wagon but I can hear and feel the A/C kick on as well as feel heat from forced air while driving and I can hear duct doors closing when I change settings on the PBU. The cover for the fuse box says the blower motor fuse is in the 'Outside Fuse Box' but where is that?

Look just in front of the Fuse Box. It is a small rectangular plastic box with a wire going in one end and a wire coming out the other end. Dimensions prox
3/4" wide by 2" long. In it you will find a ribbon fuse. It could be bad, but look good. Buy an extra one to carry as a spare.

Thanks, I see it now. I'll get one from the dealer tomorrow and see if that does the trick. I am assuming that it is like other fuses - snap out the old one and snap in the new one right?

If it's what I'm thinking of, it's a strip fuse, attached by a phillips screw on each side. Yes, on a 124 chassis it should be. It's a strip of thin metal that will "blow" like an old house fuse (maybe you've never seen these). Anyways, snap open the cover and look, it's be obvious if the fuse is blown, melted out section in the middle. I'd inspect it before buying one. MORE than likely it's the motor, but absolutely you are doing right by checking the fuse, if it is OK, I would check for voltage at the screws that hold the strip-fuse in place.

Thanks a ton guys, especially Gilly. I always have two little girls who always want to help so I'm cautious with my time. Anything that saves time makes me happy. The earliest fuse I remember are those little screw-in glass fuses for my Parents' house fuse panel.

What? All of a sudden on the day I'm going to call for an appointment to have it looked at the fan on the Climate Control starts working again! Is this a clue as to what is wrong?

Sounds like a worn out blower motor.

My 300 SEL blower brushes were shot and the blower would resurrect itself for short periods of time before we replaced them.

It would come on, run for a while, then then eventually sound like a dying turkey and completely shut off.

It was pretty random. It seemed to work mostly when the car was cold (20 F) and everything was fitting tight together and then get worse as things warmed up.
