Cool Timing problems

I have serched on this site for answers and am yet to find what I need so maybe somebody here can help...
I own a 407d van with a 2.3 motor...
The motor number is nowhere to be found so I am in the dark...
If I set the crank on top dead and the cam also on top dead where do I set up the fuel pump???
There is a line on the pump casing...do I line the missing teeth on the pump up with this line...
Please somebody please help as I am pulling out more hair than I can afford to...
Thank you...
Carlos
