when I stop at a stop light my cars seems to be jerking forward when I let up on the brake a bit. when the brake is firmly pressed it is OK but if I let up at all it is seems jerky. If I was to let the car move without any gas it is real noticable. Please help, oh yeah I just bought the car but didn't notice it really until today. Oh yeah it is a 1996 C280 Mercedes

I'm no mechanic, but will take a stab.
The throttle actuator on my E-320 has gone bad. It's the little expensive thing that tells the engine how much gas to add when you press the acelerator. The reason why I think that may be the same thing as your problem is that I, too, can feel a slight "pulling" when at a stop and in gear. Your mechanic should be able to run a quick diagnostic to tell.
